Building and Green Pea, together with Boffa Petrone & Partners and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo, create a green manifesto for the future of living and buildings
Turin, 7 July 2022. The building is an open, dynamic system that evolves over time, characterized by actors, flows and valuable relationships, which make it a metaphor of humanity’s coexistence with the Planet. With this philosophy, Green Pea Building is born, a new enterprise for the design of the buildings of the future, an idea to co-inhabit and co-evolve in an ecosystem of renewable consumption, circular, systemic, in balance between the natural realms and people.
Green Pea Building was born from the union of ideas between Green Pea, the first Green Retail Park in the world dedicated to the theme of Respect, created by Oscar Farinetti, and Building, the group of Piero and Luca Boffa, who deals with innovation of living and real estate. The mission of Green Pea Building is described in a manifesto in 7 green points, defined together with the study Boffa Petrone & Partners and the Laboratory of Sustainability and Circular Economy of the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo (UNISG)with the collaboration of Green Pea. The starting point is the protection and regeneration of the biosphere on which the social and economic plane that characterize society as we know it depends. The project in the coming years, adopting strategies of systemic design, circular economy, ecodesign, will create public buildings and homes regenerating and upgrading the existing, without consuming new soil, using eco-efficient and eco-effective materials, reusable and reconvertible at the end of life.
“Green Pea Building is the foundation stone for the building of the future. A significant change in pace and the starting point for the design of buildings that move on the horizon of innovation: in balance with ecosystems, the maximum expression of a circular economic model, with an approach that aims at the welfare of all. A manifesto able to inspire even the new generations because it can indicate a holistic vision towards new priorities, laying the foundations of the first sustainable entrepreneurial example in the field of construction”, says Piero Boffa, president of the Gruppo Building.

The 7 points of Green Pea Building are Earth, Air, Water, Energy, Resources, People and Future: pillars of a cultural reflection offer concrete solutions to support the ecological transition.

From the application of the systemic approach to a building, a project is born that focuses on the health of people and the Planet, thus adopting a vision of One Health that invites us to reason as a single interconnected system. A change of economic-cultural paradigm that in a circular key brings the attention to natural and cultural biodiversity, communities, the quality of relationships and the substance of behavior.

We cannot afford to compromise relations with the best supplier of raw materials known to mankind, namely Nature. Green Pea Building was born with this goal.
