After the inauguration of Domus Lascaris, the pedestrianization of via Dellala will follow. With 12 new construction sites in Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy, in the two-year period 2020-2022 the investment of the Building Group amounts to 80 million euros.
Turin, 23 October 2020. The growth path of the Building Group continues in the name of innovation in living: Domus Lascaris was inaugurated today in Turin, a reinterpretation of a rationalist building from the 1950s located a stone’s throw from the elegant Solferino square, designed by the Boffa studio, Petrone & Partners. The inauguration ceremony was followed by the pedestrianization of via Dellala, adjacent to Domus Lascaris. For the occasion, Building also presented the Uptown Turin construction site, a reconversion of the La Salle structure of Villa San Giuseppe.
The project on the Domus Lascaris residential complex, between via Lascaris, via Francesco d’Assisi and via Dellala, is a redefinition of modernism in a 21st century key. Announced in 2018 and launched the following year, last November it was the protagonist of a spectacular installation by the English sculptor Richard Wilson, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the film The Italian Job, created with Artissima. Much attention was paid to the environmental impact of the building, based on minimum consumption and high energy class housing units.
The skeleton has remained unchanged, while the external envelope is expressed with a contemporary character in a harmonious composition of openings, sometimes projecting, sometimes recessed into a loggia, in favor of the play of light and shadow in the interior.
The Building Group also presented the Uptown Turin construction site, a new project united to Domus Lascaris by the architectural style and the attention paid to sustainability and green: Uptown is in fact undergoing the CasaClima certification, further recognition of its high construction standards. Uptown Turin is the conversion of the structure of the La Salle Order of Villa San Giuseppe, which since 1972 has hosted university students: an exclusive and modern terrace overlooking Turin, inserted in the context of the precollina, behind the Gran Madre.
The works, which began in the summer of 2020, will lead to the construction of a residential building with 4 floors above ground, with numerous cohousing services for tenants (including a social area with kitchen and a BBQ area), private gardens and a communal vegetable garden , as well as a five-a-side football pitch, a padel field and a gym with fitness area and sensory path.
“We are proud to have reached, with the inauguration of Domus Lascaris, an important milestone within the long journey of Building. We have always been committed to safeguarding and recovering the existing: not only to create new industries, but also and above all to return to the community an architecture oriented by the values of innovation, sustainability and the exaltation of art “declares Piero Boffa, President of the Building Group, who adds “It is with this in mind that we strongly wanted the pedestrianization of Via Dellala and made it accessible to all the art spaces of Domus Lascaris, as already done with several other projects of the Group”.
With the development of these and other 12 new construction sites in Piedmont, Liguria and Lombardy, in the two-year period 2020-2022 Building will carry out an investment plan for 80 million euros, which from Turin is pushing the Group’s housing philosophy towards new, important goals. . Building is in fact also present on the square in Milan with Gate Central, the new luxury real estate project in front of the Columns of San Lorenzo, signed by the architecture and design studio Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel. Located in one of the most prestigious and exclusive areas of the historic city center, Gate Central will become a prestigious residence, which will stand out for its design, technology, innovation and energy saving.
